Carnival of Viareggio
Carnival of Viareggio always an important partner for the visibility of our cities will be shown on screen in Piazza San Michele in Lucca
The parade there will be a Lucca Float from Bassotti Nozzano Band with its music, as well as the Filarmonica di Marlia and Villa Basilica. Here shows performances by masked groups with dances choreographies themed on masks, first category floats such as “The little Train” then “In balance above the crowd”, “Lunch is served” and “As long as there is war there is hope”.
Works in the Square
Works in the Square is an idea of creating the large masks of the Viareggio Carnival in the squares of Lucca from 8TH February 2025
Palazzo Pretorio under the loggia the Gorilla created by the Cinquini brothers takes the place of the Tiger. It represents the ability to structure gigantic works in the history of Canival
The Skull Parade arrives in Piazza Anfiteatro, a celebration and twinning with Mexico City that offers during the All Saints” Day which celebrates the famous “Dia de los Muertos”
The Shamans return to Piazza del Giglio, disturbing mythological figures with mysterious subjects chosen by master Canova for the Viareggio Carnival
Finally, surprisingly the 4 mt High and 5 mt long panther inspired by the city coat of arms will parade through the streets of the city
Laser lights show and concert
From 15th February to 4th march Piazza Anfiteatro will be illuminated by projected carnival images
On 16th february at 5.00 pm in Piazzale Vittorio Emanuele in front of the Caffè delle Mura Laser Light Show
with a great musical show, three-dimesional special effects, graphic animations, immersive choreographic show
From 9.00 pm 22nd febryary in Piazza Anfiteatro we will have the traditional concert with Ivana Spagna
Confetti and Children’s Carnival with Grand Eve
On 15th and 22nd February at 2.30 pm and Saturday 1st March at 4.00 pm Carnival party in Piazza San Michele for children with entertainment, fire-eating stilt wlakers and entertainment
