Chiasso Barletti alley in Lucca is a short alley that joins two streets

During XII- XIII century the city of Lucca thanks to the development of trade

sees its population increase

The need arises to expand the towers and houses with the increase in

inhabitants the town will have more and more lack space

Therefore the houses will have a vertical developement and with that

small narrow streets are created but also dirty due to side pits

where the waste flowed

Chiasso Barletti alley in Lucca was born thanks to the government that

by decree established that whoever covered these ditches could have given

his name to the Chiasso

The Barletti family thus covering the adjacent ditch gave the name
