Witches’ Oak in Capannori

it is one of the 10 things to visit if you come in Lucca because it is about 20 minutes far away from B&B Villa Sunrise Lucca

It is a great example that you can admire in the park of Villa Carrara in Capannori in the village of San Martino in Colle

Probably it will be about 600 y old with a height of 15 mt a trunk of 4 mt and a crown of 40 mt as diameter

Why is it call Witches’ Oak? It seems the legend tell us  that the witches carried out their rites on the branches of the big Oak.
